The endometrial thickness is higher than normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
What cycle day was this scan done on ?
The lining of the uterus is thicker than normal.
There is a fibroid, but if it is not causing symptoms, you can leave it alone.
I need to know more over here .
What are your symptoms ?
Why was this scan done ?
What cycle day was this done on ?
Have you ever had any gynecological issues earlier ?

I was 5 days after my period ended and my menstrual cycle lasted 5 days. I have been having heavy bleeding every 2-3 weeks that began within the past few months. I also have increased cramping with and in between each menstruation. I went with these complaints and the scan was ordered. The only gynecological history I have is frequent ovarian cysts, which this scan did show a 2.2cm likely functional cyst on each ovary.

Brief Answer:
Endometrial hyperplasia - lining should be biopsied.

Detailed Answer:
Would you mind uploading the entire scan report, that will give me a better idea of the ultrasound scan ?
The condition here that should concern you is called - endometrial hyperplasia.
In this condition, the endometrium ( lining of the uterus ) gets thicker than usual.
MOstly this is due to hormonal imbalance, and hence easily corrected with 3 - 6 months of hormonal treatment.
There is just 1 % risk of cancer , hence the lining of the uterus that has been thickened should be biopsied ( sampled and sent to the laboratory for analysis ).
So please get that done.
The position of the fibroid is such, that it will not cause you concern.
Mostly fibroids shrink after menopause, so you should not worry about that.
Hope this helps you.
