What Does This Beta-HCG Level Indicate?

Question: My prolactin serum (ECLIA) Result is 43.0 ng/ml but Beta HCG is 0.100mIU/ml i had also miss my period which was supposed to came on 24th of this month its already 6 days delay..but the pregnancy test in home shows negative please clear the confusion?

Your beta HCG is too low and is not suggestive of pregnancy. The increased levels of prolactin is the cause of delay in periods. You can consult a gynecologist and start with bromocriptine and progesterone therapy to get a withdrawal bleeding and to again normalize the raised prolactin levels.
