What Does Platelet Count Of 369 Indicate?

Question: Platelets came back at 369. No medical conditions other than high blood pressure. Is this okay or too high? Do I need to do anything about it?

What causes it to go up and down? Back in January it was I believe 249 or 269. Or is this something that fluctuates normally? I appreciate your answer.

Hello dear. Welcome to HCM.
The normal range of platelets lies between 150 to 450 thousands per microliter. The average lifespan for latelets is 7 days. During this process, newer platelets are being formed and older ones getting destroyed. However the rate of destruction and formation are not exactly same and vary from person to person, from time to time, but always remain in the same normal range.
This is the reason why you get different readings at different days and even different reading in the same day. But for all practical purposes, they will always be in normal range for healthy persons.
So no need to worry.
