Brief Answer:
The given Hb level is slightly raised for a female patient.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs. XXXXXXX Hi
I can understand your concern for the slightly high hemoglobin.
I have gone through the uploaded results of CBC & blood biochemistry.
The hemoglobin level of 17.2 and the Total RBC count of 5.7 cells/cu mm are slightly raised.
I would like to know the following details so as to analyze the given lab results to draw a conclusion:
1. Do you suffer from illnesses like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease like bronchitis or emphysema? or heart problem or sleep apnoea?
2. Do you smoke (excuse me if you do not!)?

Awaiting your reply.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
The lab result is in the upper limit for males

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Hi
Good morning.
Thanks for your reply.
The normal Hemoglobin (males): 13.8 to 17.2 gm/dL
The normal RBC count: 4.7 to 6.1 million cells/cu mm
Your Hemoglobin is in the upper limit of the normal range and the RBCs count is within the normal range.
According to World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, diagnosis of Polycythemia requires the following criteria:
1. Hemoglobin > 18.5 g/dL in men and > 16.5 g/dL in women, or other evidence of increased red blood cell volume like increased RBCs, PCV, etc.
2. Presence of JAK2 protein mutation.
The given Hemoglobin and RBCs count could be due to lack of enough water and fluids, such as from severe diarrhea, excessive sweating, or water pills used to treat high blood pressure or it may also occur due to smoking.
Hope to have answered your query.

Brief Answer:
There's nothing to worry at this moment.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX Hi
Thanks for your reply and the compliments.
Since you do not have any problem or complaint and this is just an incidental isolated findings, so you need not have to worry at the moment. However you may repeat the lab tests after a 4-6 weeks.
If you experience headache, dizziness, difficulty in breathing or itching particular after taking a warm/hot bath consult a physician for further evaluation.
For your high triglycerides, avoid taking fatty meals, fast and junk foods, increase the intake of fruits and vegetables in your diet and a regular exercise is what all you need to control the triglycerides level.
Hope this answers your query.
Kindly rate the answers if you are convinced.
Best wishes.
