What Does My X-ray Test Result Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 May 2016
Question: My mother is 62 years old and her xray report says - calcified foci seen in both hilar and right infraclavicular areas. Rest of bilateral lung fields are normal. No definite parenchymal infiltrates noted. Trachea is normal in position. Cardiac shadow is normal in size and shape. Bilateral domes of diaphragm and CP angles are clear. Bony cage and soft tissue of thorax appear normal. And her blood and sputum report is also normal. But Urine report says mild urine infection. And yes she once had blood infection in year back 1997. But her present report is normal. Please suggest.

No she doesn't smoke, yes she had blood infection in 1997, doctor said it wad start of tb...but she took complete course of that. No ger weight is constant...no weight loose. Yes she has BP problem...but not that serious. And her recent report of blood and sputum is normal.

Brief Answer:
Calcified foci might be related to old healed lesion, better to go for CT

Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome again and thanks for the details
Since all her blood and sputum reports are normal so you need not to worry
Calcified foci might be related to healed tubercular lesion, however to be on safe side you can go for CT chest if need be, after discussing it with her doctor.
Hope I could answer your question. please feel free to ask for if you have any more queries, I will be happy to help you
Best wishes
