What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?

Question:      I have had a very bad odor when I urinate and at the end of my draining a bunch of air comes out the end of my pinus. I am 52 years old, male, and have a pinched sciatic nerve diagnosed by a MRI. This odor and air problem has been going on for 2 months. Doctor finally had my urine tested and I have E-Coli in my urine. Doctor is sending me to a urologist who is having me do a Cat Scan this morning before she sees me. I am retaining fluid extremely bad. If you push your finger into my hands or legs they dent in about an inch. I take 60 mg of Furosemide daily and hardly urinate. Am I going to be okay? Will this Cat Scan reveal what the urologist needs to know to treat me? Thanks KJ.

Brief Answer:
Fistula between bladder and large intestine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Your symptoms are very characteristic to a fistula (connection between bladder and large intestine). E.Coli is a digestive tract bacteria. Air is always from an intestine.
You may have fistula as a complication of diverticulitis or inflammatory bowels disease. I suggest you to have colonoscopy and abdominal CT done. Surgery is necessary to fix it.
Please do not wait as the infection can harm your kidneys.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
