default
Posted on Thu, 8 Sep 2016
Question: My TSH level is 8.190 and I was wondering about that number being too high or too low. I take 75 mcg of levothyroxine everyday but this may need to be adjusted.

Brief Answer:
The dose is not enough.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome and thank you for asking!
Your TSH level is high for your age, it means that the actual dose is not enough, it should be raised.
I would advice to see your treating physician and raise the dose as he will suggest after excluding pathologies that may be deteriorated from a higher dose of TSH.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
