Brief Answer:
Please get examined by a general surgeon and ultrasound scan if required

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The triglyceride, AST and ALT are in upper limit of normal and therefore acceptable. Clinically these values are not indicating any serious problem.

2. I understand your pain in the left upper abdomen and suggest that you get an appointment with a general surgeon and get clinically examined based on the pain you have for 2 months. Such pain should not be ignored. Pain on left side of abdomen can originate from conditions of left kidney, spleen, pancreas and lower chest or bowel.

3. After getting examined in detail please request your doctor to recommend you for an abdomen and pelvis ultrasound if indicated.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
You need to discuss your pain with your surgeon in detail

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. An ultrasound scan showing ?liver measuring 21.5 cm is an enlarged liver. If you are over weight then the size of liver is acceptable.

2. The liver is located on the right and mid part of abdomen and might not be causing the left abdomen pain.

3. Assuming that the ultrasound scan showed only the liver measuring 21.5 cm and rest of the abdomen was normal then you should go back to your surgeon and get your disturbing symptoms evaluated and discuss if a CT scan abdomen would be of help. A CT scan given clear detail about the abdominal organs and bowel and therefore any abnormality will be known. Left side abdomen pain can also occur due to ulcers in the stomach. If you have GERD and acid reflux symptoms then getting an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy can help to assess your pain and discomfort.

Hope your query is answered.
