Brief Answer:
A common viral condition

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking in HealthcareMagic.

I can understand your concern.

According to the history you provide it seems that this is a viral situation.

As a such it usually lasts for a couple of days and for this we recommend to our patients painkillers (like paracetamol or ibuprofen twice or three times per day as needed),a lot of liquids ( tea, water) ,vitamins and some rest.

If the fever gets worse or the general situation deteriorates than you should do some examinations as follows:

Hemogram
CRP
Chest x ray (if needed)

If they come positive probably your doctor will prescribe you antibiotics (like Zimacrol once for three days) .

I am sure you will be better with the above

I wish a fast recovery for you and feel free to ask me again

Okay, now my question is what do you do about laryngitis?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Jolanda (10 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Aerosol or inhalers for laringitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

As i explain to you above for laryngitis you should do aerosols or inhalers with steroids (like Clenil twice for four or five days)

Try to take your vocal cords silent (do not talk much during the day time) .Try to avoid hot drinks and foods.

If the situation gets worse you should add to the current treatment oral steroids (like Prednison twice for up to a week)

This is the treatment i do to my patients with laringitis

With this treatment you will be better.

Regards

So are these prescription medications?
What about throat spray?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Jolanda (9 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Local sprays are relievers

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Yes all the above are the proper medications for acute viral laringitis

Throat sprays are only relievers for the pain they does not cure .

One spray that you can use is JOX spray three or four times during the day before the meal.

I wish you a fast recovery

Where would I get this JOX spray you are referring to?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Jolanda (21 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Supermarket or drugstore without prescription

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

You can get JOX spray probably in the supermarket in the place where are the painkillers located or in every drugstore.

You do not need a prescription for this spray because it is just a disinfectant which relieve the discomfort or the pain of the throat (like betadine)
