What Causes Two Red Spots On Lip Area?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Question: Doctor,

You've helped me in the past. I noticed these red spots on my lip this morning. Hadn't noticed them before then. Really no pain associated with it. Two distinct spots. Not raised on the lip or bumpy and don't seem to be cratered or lesioned either. Might just be a cut or irritation.

Thoughts? Anything to worry about? Appreciate your help as always

Brief Answer:
Not related to herpes. Relax and don't worry.

Detailed Answer:
Dear young buddy,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks a lot for your further follow up. I beg your pardon for replying bit late because of time difference.

I have gone through the pictures and can make out two distinct bumps on the lip area. After analyzing these with diligence I can make out that these are not related to herpes at present. Had it been herpes then there would had been multiple blisters with pain and burning over the same.

I reassure you that this is not related to herpes. I suggest you to keep a watch and if feel any changes then can report it to me.

Relax and enjoy the weekend! !

Thanks, Doctor. It looks like the little cuts/bumps had cleared too and are not noticeably red anymore. Think my lips are just chapped and a little irritated.

Wanted to give you a quick update just to keep the thread open in case I have any more questions or noticw anything else.

As always, thanks for your help and reassurancwe .

I reassure you fully that present condition not related to herpes and therefore relax your mind form the possibility of the same.

As you can notice that the area is not noticeably red anymore, so the possibility of herpes is out. Over all let me reassure you again that your rash is not related to shingles.

Hope these information will relax you. I will be glad to answer any further queries.
