What Causes Tightness In The Chest And Soreness In The Armpit?

Question: I have been having chest tightness and soreness under both arms. I also feel tired and shaky. I am on antibiotics for a bacterial sinus infection and inner and outer ear infections in both ears. I sometimes feel that I can't get air. I have had 2 regular ekg. All my blood work came back fine except my white count was elevated. I used my wife's inhaler tonight on the off chance that it might help. It did! I have been having chest tightness for the last three years. I have been to the heart doctor and had a full check up. I also had my gall bladder taken out. There was no relief there. It seems that the inhaler instantly relieved the tightness. I have no cough but I am wondering if maybe I have asthma.

Brief Answer:
Steam inhalation should help

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I would need to ask how long you have been having the symptoms. You possibly have a upper respiratory infection possibly due to a bacterial cause (since the WBC Count is elevated) and treatment with antibiotics might be needed. It could also be due to a muscle spasm wherein hot compress should provide relief. Try taking steam inhalation. Water in form of vapor reaches deep inside and helps in diluting the cough and thus provides relief. It would also help in opening up of the sinuses and would help in their drainage. Nebulization would possibly provide better relief.
