What Causes Swelling And Burning Sensation In The Vaginal Area?

Question: I m on my fifth day of period. From yesterday I am facing a severe burning sensation in my outer layer of vagina. Today both the side of labia minora got swollen and its burning during urination and also i found that the sides are dried up.

The labia minora(two sides of the opening) are swollen and is dark brown in colour. During pee. During urination I get burning feeling in the labia minora and the labia majora region starting from the origin of the pee. Moreover the labia minora are completly dried up and to avoid this I have applied petroleum gelly in it.
