Brief Answer:
Gastritis or Gall stones can be the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Your stomach pain can be due to gastritis or gall stones.

Do you have more pain associated with fatty food intake like eggs , cakes or meat?

What is the exact site of pain? Is it on area of umbilicus or right and below below ribs or left and below ribs?

Any relief after taking antacids or applying hot water bags on abdomen?

You can take proton pump inhibitors like Esomeprazole (Nexium) and apply hot water bags on abdomen. Taking antacid syrups also is good. If it is gastritis there will be improvement. If there is no improvement then you should undergo an ultrasound examination to rule out gall stone disease or problems with pancreas .

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

1. Do you have more pain associated with fatty food intake like eggs , cakes or meat? I do know, but eat all food groups daily. No association with particular food or meal. Pain is less when stomach is empty.

2. What is the exact site of pain? Left side below ribs and above pelvis.

3. Any relief after taking antacids or applying hot water bags on abdomen?
I have not tried antacids or hot water yet.

4. Will try the antacid and hot water shortly.

Brief Answer:
Can be gastritis most likely..

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up.

As it is on left side below ribs It can be most likely gastritis. Antacids and applying hot water bag helps to settle the discomfort and pain. Taking proton pump inhibitors like Esomeprazole (Nexium) daily for 2 weeks or more will be helpful to clear it. Avoid excess spicy , excess fatty , oily and junk foods. Carbonated foods , coffee ,alcohol and smoking should be avoided also.
