Brief Answer:
Need a clinical assessment of abdomen with some investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef, a general surgeon answering your query.

If I were your doctor, I would advise you for the following:
1) A complete physical examination with special attention to your abdomen
2) A routine blood check up like a CBC, a blood sugar, LFT, serum amylase and serum lipase, Bloos urea and serum creatinine, and a serum uric acid as base line investigation.A routine microscopic test for the urine to rule out a UTI, and a stool test for ova and cyst would be worthwhile.
3) An ultrasound abdomen to rule out a gall stone disease (one of the common cause for pain in right side of abdomen), any pathology of the liver, pancreas or any other intra abdominal organ, followed by CT/MRI scan in appropriate cases if need be.
4) An x- ray of chest to rule out any pathology in the right lung base which not infrequently gives rise to such pain abdomen on the right side.]

Till the investigation reports are available, I would suggest you to do the following:
1)Some modification in your diet like more of roughage, enough liquids, avoidance of oily, fried, and fast food, and avoidance of alcoholic beverages and smoking if you do.
2) Regular routine exercises like morning walk depending on your medical fitness.
3) Prescription for a proton pump inhibitor and an anti spasmodic for symptomatic relief.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
