What Causes Sharp Pain On Left Side Of The Head And Scalp?
Question: For 5 days I have been having sharp pains on the left side of my head and my scalp hurts to touch it.

Do you have any sinus problem in past, with cold attack lately?
Update short brief up on past illnesses-like asthma/diabetes/hypertension/Temporal arteritis/Migrain/Cervical Spondylitis etc and medicines you took or taking still for it?
Do you suffer from any upper dental problems in the past and lately,before this attack?
Update your day's diet schedule and job schedule?

I have had these episodes in the past but never has lasted this long. My medical doctor told me years ago that it was an inflamed nerve, It also affects my ear, throat and eye. For the last two days my nose on the left side starts pouring blood when I get up in the mornings. I have some allergies because of the pollen but that has been since the start of spring.

With the history of last 2 days nasal- morning bleeding,this sharp pain in scalp becomes a cause for worry.
Seems its just not alike the earlier pains.
Update if any eye/throat/ear pains are there right now?
Dear, do you have cold and running nose lately, with the pollen allergies?
Do you relate the nasal bleeding due to scraping of the nasal crust caused from running cold nose?
Accompanied Sinus infection could cause headache with scalp pain and it needs to be ruled out by physical check with ENT Surgeonj.
Probable Diagnosis- and Do's suggested on -My Impression-
Dear, in the given situation I would suggest you to -
-Consult with Physician and check for any extremely high Blood pressure?due to some anxiety?if its there, needs to be ruled out and treated if present.
-Besides this-Consults with ENT Surgeon- and physical check up,would be needed in your case to rule out any.
-CT-Scan and Consults with Neuro-Surgeon,to rule out SOL(any space occupying lesion) which could present with such complaints.This Consultation would decide the need for the CT/MRI study of the brain/ skull and needs to be done only if suggested from Physician from Physician.
Primary Diagnosis of these sharp scalp pains on left side-
In My opinion-
The sharp pains for a longer time could be from continued undetected high blood pressure(mostly malignant Type high BP),which remained undiagnosed over a time and now presented with last 2 days of nasal Bleeding, in your case.
But since the pain this time is unusual as its not accompanied with any eye,ear,throat affection and considering your advanced age, these sharp headaches needs to be thoroughly investigated and treated in the above suggested way,so as to resolve this complex health issue soon.
-Next appointment for Review-after 3-6 weeks
