What Causes Severe Fatigue With Loss Of Balance?

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jan 2016
Question: Hello, I am tired all of the time, although it must be due to the fact that I can't seem to sleep past 4AM. I try to go to bed earlier than most but it seems that I just lay there and manage to nod off around 10PM. With that, I'm nodding off at the wheel while driving home from work and have taken to rolling both windows down to stay awake. I seem to lose my balance easy and I cannot recall previous conversations which is driving both me and my co-workers insane. In addition, I may have arthritis as it is difficult to move my fingers. Lastly, I went to the dermatologist for a few moles and she told me that she wasn't concerned with the moles but she was concerned with my ankles as they don't look right. They are red and the skin appears mottled. I may have different things going on but haven't the faintest idea as to what Doctor I should see for these various symptoms. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
You should consult internal medicine doctor first.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Thanks for the detailed information.
In my opinion, you should first consult internal medicine doctor and carry out basic investigations like
1. Blood pressure monitoring
2. Complete blood count (CBC).
3. Sugar levels
4. Renal and liver function test
5. Ecg and 2d echo.
6. Central nervous system examination.
At your age uncontrolled diabetes, blood pressure or other common problems can cause similar symptoms.
So get done above mentioned basic investigations.
On the basis of their results, you may need specialist consultation like neurologist or psychiatrist or sleep specialist.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
