Question: HI, I have a scaly patch the size of pencil eraser just outside the nipple and some itching for a couple months. It keeps coming back, some redness in the area. What are the beginning stages of breast cancer?

Thanks for the photograph.

Initial symptoms of pagets dosease, a type of breast cancer may include Itching or redness in the nipple and/or areola.
Flaking, crusty, or thickened skin on or around the nipple is also seen in pagets.
However the photograph is suggestive of fungal infection.
Apply Clotrimazole cream twice daily for two weeks.
This should help you.
If there is no response, a biopsy might be required to rule out pagets.

If possible please upload a better clarity photograph of the involved area.
