What Causes Rectal Bleeding?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Jan 2017
Question: I have been 'leaking' waste material. Not long after the previous trip to the restroom, I feel slippery/wet between my buttocks & have to go again. There is residual poop & now today there is blood, but I'm not sure that it's from within or from my anus being irritated from all the excessive cleaning & wiping. The blood is bright as though topical. The last 2 days it's gotten worse - I've actually soiled my undergarment twice now.
Should I be scared? because I'm fighting it.

Brief Answer:
Dont be scared, get it checked out

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

The area needs to be examined by a general surgeon. The examination should include a digital rectal exam. This presentation and history can be related to anal fistula, hemorrhoids or superimposed bacterial or fungal infection due to predisposition.

All three have different treatment options and treatment can be advised based on the diagnosis.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
