Question: Does shingles hurt "inside", not just at rash site? I thought it was muscles hurting at first

In my opinion it seems to be shingles.(herpes zoster).

It is a viral infection and it affects nerve roots .This leads to pain,burning sensations and irrtation.

At times these symptoms appear much before actual rash appears and therfore it feels pain coming from inside.
