What Causes Persistent Pain In The Upper Right Abdomen?

Question: I had my gall bladder removed two months ago but I still have pain or discomfort in the right side of my abomin below the rib cage which is similar to constipation discomfort. I'm curious what I should do about it.

Pain in right upper abdomen in your case could be due to following factors

1. Gastritis/underlying acid peptic disease

2. Constipation

I would suggest you the following which will definitely help in both cases .
1. Taking antacid like Pantoprozole will definitely provide you the much needed relief.
2. Avoid Spicy and oily foods
3. Eat small quantity frequent meals
4. Avoid tea/coffee/alcohol/carbonated beverages
5. Consume high fiber diet
6. Consume plenty of oral fluids


If the symptoms still persist then do consult your Primary care physician for further assessment .
