default
Posted on Thu, 28 May 2015
Question: Hello. I am experiencing dull, achy, pain across both the front and back of my chest. It feels like the pain associated with a muscle strain, however, the pain seems to orignate in my lungs, rather than chest muscles. I have no trouble breathing. This has been persistent for appx. two weeks.

Brief Answer:
Better to get done chest x ray.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on HCM.

From your history and description, in my opinion, you are mostly having muscular pain only. But better to get done chest x ray to rule out causes of pleurisy. Pleurisy is inflammation of pleura and it causes chest pain. It can be due to pneumonia, tuberculosis, pleural effusion etc. And chest x ray is needed to rule out all these. If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for all these.

You are mostly having muscular pain.

Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
