What Causes Pain In Breast When I Stretch Arm?

default
Posted on Mon, 19 Jan 2015
Question: My right breast hurts inside when I stretch my right arm towards the back? It's like a sting but it goes away. Than if I do it again it doesn't hurt the second time. But if I give it awhile and move my arm again I get the sting again. What could it be? It's just movement with my arm when I only put it to the back when I stretch. It doesn't hurt any other way with my arm

Brief Answer:
Most probably muscular pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. This pain is most probably due to muscular spasm underlying the breast. If i were your treating doctor then would have advised following things:
- take ibuprofen twice a day for 5 days
- Don't lift heavy weight.
- Take adequate rest.
- Take hot water in a rubber bottle and place it over the site of pain. It will give soothing effect.
- Take olive oil and massage the breast area. It will also give soothing effect.

It will take few days to recover completely. If it does not start to improve in 3-4 days then do visit hospital.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any query then feel free to ask. If not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health!

I went to the Er yesterday they have me a x ray lungs look good, they gave me a breast exam with hands they felt normal, they said since I only felt pain when I put my arm to the back so when my breast stretch it hurts like it was tearing but it would go away even if I leave my arm still in that position I would have no pain. But if I did it again in 2 minutes it would hurt again. But a notice when I go to sleep and I wouldn't mess with my arm it wouldn't hurt the first time. I most have been irrianting it everyday so it wouldn't heal is that possible. I have not pain standing up or putting my arms toward the front of me or even in the airplane position only pain I get is when I put my right arm towards the back of me, the physician called it musculoskeletal chest wall pain, so my question to you is that even I had this problem for like 10 days already but I didn't take care of it like the steps you gave me like the hot water the ibrofen and I didn't irritant it in the beginning, I only started irrianting the last four days by stretching it all the time to see if it still hurts so does it take a long time to heal?

Brief Answer:
Recovery will be delayed if adequate care not given

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the query. It will take even more time to heal if you will not take care. Healing occurs if you give rest. On the other hand you are not giving adequate rest with physiotherapy and continuously using it so in this case it will not heal soon. As you continued to stretch it in last 4 days so pain as aggravated. My suggestion would be to follow the above mentioned advise and do not take stress so that it heals soon enough.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any query then feel free to ask. If not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health!
