Brief Answer:
Need not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.

If the swelling appeared soon after removing the needle, this indicates a hematoma formed by seepage of blood through through vessel wall.
This just needs application of constant pressure with clean cotton or guaze piece for 5 minutes,so that the vein gets sealed off and prevents further progression. The hematoma already formed, will resolve slowly in few hours.Meanwhile, you can use simple analgesics like paracetamol or ibuprofen for pain relief,if needed.
Also, clean the area with some antiseptic lotion to prevent infection.

Remember that,it is dangerous to try drawing ones own blood,as needle can pierce nearby structures like artery, nerves etc.So avoid future mishaps.

Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,

Just rubbing is not enough. As I told,we should have applied some CONSTANT pressure for few minutes soon after taking out the needle to prevent hematoma. Now,if there is no further progression of the swelling,no need to tie up.The swelling will resolve its own slowly.Tying up will prevent progression if any.

Take some analgesics like ibuprofen 400 mg two or three times a day(hope not allergic).Keep the limb in an elevated position as far as possible. You can apply thrombophob also. The pain will come down in 1-2 days.If not,we will have to rule out complications like infection, and treat accordingly.Your doctor will guide in this.

Regarding your depression and frustration,if you are not able to get out of that with mind relaxing techniques like meditation,it is better to seek the help of psychiatrist, who can guide you better,as I am not familiar in that field.
Meanwhile, avoid over stress in home/work place, have adequate sleep, engage in some pleasurable activities like games, and have a healthy diet.Open minded and good relation with friends and family members also might offer some help.

Hope you got cleared.
Thank you.
