What Causes Numbness In The Left Side Of Face?
Question: Hello, I occasionally get a numbness or tingling on left side of face. Today this was accompanied shortly after by same feeling on side of left leg near knee. I went to see doctor previously about possible stroke or mini-stroke but was told not to worry as I would feel numbness or tingling on entire left side of body which I didn't. Plus, was told would have have trouble seeing, speaking and holding arms above head if stroke. How likely is it that I am experiencing stroke or XXXXXXX stroke? I have no predisposing factors such as sedentary lifestyle, high blood pressure, or suspicion/signs of blood clots from any recent surgery or trauma. A little concerned. Can you reassure me? How concerned should I be?

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Your symptoms are not fitting into stroke or transient ischaemic attacks.
In case of absence of any risk factors, it is highly unlikely to be stroke.
Your doctor is right about stroke symptoms.
You can take pregabalin with methylcobalamin for these tingling and numbness feeling.
In case these symptoms are involving face with or without whole upper or lower limbs then brain imaging may be done.
In case of these tingling and numbness involves both upper and lower limbs, reexamination for possibility of nerve involvement or spinal cord involvement to be considered.
For now, nothing serious or worrisome.

If not serious, what could these episodes suggest? Today's numbness or tingling occurred shortly after waking up, having slept on left side prior to waking. Could it be relate to that?
