Question: I am a 67 year old male that has mumbness in my feet and it feels like I am walking on sponges. I have been to my family physician and a neurologist. B-12 Levels are 248 in range from 180 to 914. Othe blood work looks good CBC, thyroid, chemistry screen serum immun according to both Dr's...Neurologist recommended methylmalonic acid lvl test to see if B12 deficiency might be the problem (I have been taking a B Complex supplement for years) and I'm returning to my family dr for result today.

Please give some more information: 1. have you been checked for diabetes 2. do you have numbness in hands also? 3. do you consume alcohol, if yes how much per day 4. have you ever been treated for STDs 5. what is your serum creatinine and urea levels 6. What is your PSA level, last done. Sorry,the list of questions seems long, but they are very important for proper diagnosis. Obviously, B12 defeciency is not the cause in your case. your answers provide an insight into the diagnosis. bye.
