Cortical irregularity of the kidney could be a feature of urinary infection causing shrinkage of the kidney . It can also be part of any childhood Kidney Disease or can be due to developmental abnormality of the kidney.
it is very important what the urine report and serum creatinine report shows, to see if overall kidney functions are stable.
just the presence of cortical irregularity on the ultrasound is not a medical emergency and it does not mean that you should seek medical attention immediately . But if along with these findings you have high blood pressure or episodes of urine infection then this should be taken care of to decrease further damage to the kidney
