What Causes Lower Right Abdominal Pain Along With Lower Back Pain?

Posted on Thu, 26 Feb 2015
Question: Hello, My name is XXXXXX. I am an 18 year old female looking for answers. I was healthy and perfectly fine until I was in a car accident in April of 2014 and a few days after I started experiencing sharp lower right abdominal pains along with low back pains. Since then I have had every test under the sun it feels like. I even had my gallbladder removed because my Doctor thought that was the problem, the pains never went away and still no one knew what was wrong. My doctor told me I had IBS because following my gallbladder removal I experienced IBS symptoms for a very short time but eventually they went away and I am still left with unchanged lower back pain and sharp lower right abdominal pains made worse by pressing in that area. This has gone on for 9 months and hasn't changed. I recently went to a chiropractor to try and solve the back pains and he told me he doesn't know whats wrong after about a month of working on my back twice a week with no signs of it getting better . I am looking for someone to tell me wha t this may be. I have been checked for everything, appendix, ive had a colonoscopy, blood test, ct scans, ultra sounds to check kidneys, pancreas, liver, and uterus for cysts etc. I had never had any of these problems until a few days after a car accident.

Brief Answer:
I will advise you to do PET SCAN

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case.
Usually nerve compression can’t be seen on X ray you may need MRI for this.
MRI with contrast of spine will help to know origin of back pain.
Pain indicates inflammatory process or nerve compression.
I will advise you to do PET SCAN so that lesion in any area of body can be identified.

I will advise you to do MRI spine
Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help.

Many of my patients get relief from fatigue by yoga pranayama and XXXXXXX XXXXXXX so you can also due that.
