default
Posted on Mon, 13 Jul 2015
Question: Had a blood test for pregnancy it showed low hcg levels. Been having fevers , hot body temperatures , vomitting saliva , head aches , kicking in lower abdomin and under my right rib. Midwife said the hcg levels show I am just pregnant. Will it be better if I go to a hospital and get checked?

Brief Answer:
Yes, we will have to rule out and avoid a threatened abortion

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. A low hCG level could be indicative of a threatened abortion, which can result in some serious issues.

I would strongly recommend a visit to the hospital along with a gynaecologist consult to help bring your levels within a normal limit, to help allow safe continuation of your pregnancy and ensure safe and healthy development of your fetus.

Some of the symptoms can be related to a hormonal imbalance, whereas some others could be indicative of a fever (e.g. gastroenteritis- stomach infection).

I hope you find my response helpful. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
You should easily know by now if you are pregnant

Detailed Answer:
Hi ma'am.

November? That makes it about 7 months, if true then you should be easily showing with your abdomen well bloated and full. Is that so? Please send me a picture of your abdomen or your frontal portion.

Also, since when have you not had a period.

Best wishes.

Does bloated mean hard all the time ? If so its always bloated and full. But because I am also sick I have no appetite at all. I havent had my period since last year November a week before I had sexual intercourse.

Brief Answer:
Everything sounds like you are pregnant, expect for the fact that you don't

Detailed Answer:
Hi ma'am.

Thank you for the image and details.

And your menstrual cycle was regular before November?

Sorry if I am asking for too much, but could you send me an image of your abdomen exposed from the front side, may be by taking an image of yourself in front of a mirror or asking someone to take a picture of you from in front of you with your abdomen exposed? Thank you.

You should visit a doctor for an abdominal ultrasound to confirm pregnancy, and also a hCG level check to hep you further.

I am only surprised how you do not know by now that you are pregnant. Please feel free to keep in touch with me, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Congratulations, and recommend a doctors visit for the following reasons

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

Yes, it does look like you are indeed pregnant. But I would still recommend a visit to the doctor for the following reasons:

+Check your gestational age after confirming pregnancy through an ultrasound examination
+Check on your hCG levels and help regulate them to allow proper continuation of your pregnancy
+Check on the health of your fetus

I wish you loads of luck, and please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help you ma'am. I can also guide you through your pregnancy with whatever advise you need.

Best wishes.
