Gestational age

What is Gestational age?

Gestation is the period of time between conception and birth. During this time, the baby grows and develops inside the mother's womb. Gestational age is the common term used during pregnancy to describe how far along the pregnancy is. It is measured in weeks, from the first day of the woman's last menstrual cycle to the current date. A normal pregnancy can range from 38 to 42 weeks. Infants born before 37 weeks are considered premature. Infants born after 42 weeks are considered postmature.

Please let me know what precautions to be taken and how to improve the condition. Is it something to worry. I also had subchrorionic collection which is absorbing and is now 9.4 and 6.9 mm

I have a premature son gestational age 33.5 weeks, but currently 2 months of age. My question is can he break his own bones due to movement ? Current body weight 2lbs 7oz. My concern is can it be due to negligence of care because being in an incubator surrounded by plush pillows, I deem it highly unlikely he can do it of his own accord.

doctor1 MD

IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR A BABY TO BREAK HIS/HER BONE DUE TO OWN MOVEMENTS.
HOWEVER COLLAR BONE FRACTURES ARE QUITE COMMON & SELF HEALING.
IN CERTAIN CONDITIONS LIKE SEVERE OSTEOPENIA OF PREMATURITY (METABOLIC BONE DISEASE OF PREMATURITY) OR CERTAIN TYPES OF OSTEOGENESIS IMPERFECTA ,THE BABY...

i went into the hospital on friday they because of cramping and i found out i was pregnant just the day before they said im about 5 weeks. they did a blood test and my hcg was only 47. they did and ultrasound but theres no gestational sac .they said that i have a lesion on my right ovary and it could be causing me to have false results. Ive taken 6 hpts all of which were positive, im tired, nauseous, and having some stomach weirdness. my question is, could the lesion be causing all this craziness or is it too early to see a sac right now and i can possibly be pregnant?

doctor1 MD

I have many Queries in My mind. My LMP was on Nov 20th & On the month of Nov before 20th I d i pill & had MP normally. But on Dec 8th had fewer spotting for 2 days. Then on Dec 28th when I missed my Periods I tested for Pregnancy & turned negative. Then again on Jan 13th When I tested for Pregnancy it turned be positive & in the ultrasound scan the fetus age was determined as 6 W 3 D. ( I m still not able to determine the exact week. Should I go with the scan or LMP). Then My Gyn has prescribed me to have Sustain 2oo Daily one. This is my second pregnancy & the first was very normal & I don t have any history of miscarriages. I m feeling tiredness & vomiting through out the day . Does it have any connection with the Sustain. How long may Ive to have it & what s my exact week

doctor1 MD
