this started about a week or so ago. First I noticed the mucus then bowel movements 3 - 5 times before noon. I have not taken any medications, no blood, no cramps, no nausea or vomiting. Appetite is low - slight, unsettled stomach.

A few weeks ago I was on an antibiotic to cure an infection from a skin cancer and stitches on my shoulder.

Brief Answer:
Seems like a viral infection or a bacterial disbalance from the antibiotic.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

From what I am understanding seems like it is an acute diarrhea.
Yes, it may be from the use of antibiotics, or it may be a viral infection which will take 7-10 days to return bowel into normal movements.

Meanwhile take some probiotics (eg.Lactobacillus sachet) over the counter on the local pharmacy, that will help stabilize your normal bacteria in the bowel; Have a diet with banana, rice, apple and toast; avoid milk;

If you see blood in the stool, if you have fever, and if you start getting worse or not better, then you should consider doing a visit to the local doctor to do the necessary labs and examinations.

Hope this is helpful.
