What Causes Itchy Spots On Face And Back Area?
Question: my child is 1 1/2 years old.
he is a healthy boy. just a few hours back he developed these swollen spots on his face and back. it goes away in some time. but reappears on some other part.
it happend like this on his cheecks bith sides alternatively.
its itching him. as he is scratching it continuously.
i am very scared. please tell me what is this.he does not have fever. how is this happening with him only.the spots are increaseing in size. its niw covering his cheeks compleately

Hi...this is simple hives or urticaria. Please do not worry. It happens due to many reasons, most of which we may not be able to find out unless this keeps recurring after a specific allergen.
You can use any antiallergic you have with you right now....or..You can use Hydroxyzine at 1-2mg/kg/dose every 6th to 8th hourly for 7-10 days. Most important thing to be remembered is that it has a propensity to recur (called as second crop) within 10-14 days. If this happens, you can start using the same medicine but I suggest you get the kid evaluated with your paediatrician.
Right now if you can get back to me with the weight of the baby I will be able to suggest you the possibility of the proper medication.
