What Causes Itching In Groin Area After A D&C Procedure?
Question: I had a D & C on Thursday. Developed itching on Friday, thought it was a UTI. Rash developed immediately. Rash is between legs and groin area. Red, burning sensation, itching and pain. Could it be MRSA?

In my opinion it's could possibly be an allergy to antibiotics or skin infection. It might be a fungal infection. And it might lead to superimposed bacterial infection. Itching ,redness, mostly might go in favor of fungal infection.
Allergy to antibiotics can be suspected if rash developed after taking nitrofurantoin. Although rash to nitrofurantoin is a rare entity.
But definite diagnosis is made only after clinical examination.We cannot tell that it is MRSA unless we detect that by culture and sensitivity.
So make a consultation with doctor to rule out the cause.
Continue Allegra tablets. Wear loose cotton innerwear and frequently change them. Corticosteroid ointment may give relief from itching but you will need to consult doctor before starting.
