Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that the difference in the blood pressure values between the two arms could be related to a narrowed artery from atherosclerosis.

The fact that you have a clogged carotid artery indicates that you have advanced atherosclerosis, which is a generalized process affecting many arteries in your body.

This difference in blood pressure values between arms could be explained by a clogged subclavian artery.

I recommend performing an angio CT scan of of supra-aortic arteries and the arteries in the arms in order to investigate for possible vessel narrowing, before surgery for carotid artery.

A coronary angio CT scan would also be necessary to investigate for possible coronary artery syndrome, which is related to atherosclerosis too.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
