What Causes High Alanine Aminotransferase Levels?

Question: Recently, I had my annual health check-up. In my report, I got ALANINE AMINOTRANSFERASE as 66 U/L. As per report, this value is HIGH as normal value should be less than 48 U/L. Can you please tell what this means and is it of concern ?

Hello,
I have gone through the description which you have provided and also the uploaded reports.
Do you drink alcohol? If yes then the elevated levels could be because of alcohol.

In case you don't drink alcohol, then I would suggest that you get tests for hepatitis B and C

In case these tests are negative. Then it is not a cause for concern and it is likely to be due to fatty liver and I would suggest that you repeat the test after 3 months.

You do not need any medications if your tests are negative.

I do not drink alcohol.
For hepatitis B and C, should I directly tell the pathology lab "Hepatitis B" and "Hepatitis C" or are these tests are specially named ?
