Posted on Thu, 25 May 2017
Question: I have flu symptoms but also have sever headaches at night in my right temple. I was bitten by a wood tick a week and a half ago? The only thing that touches the pain is hydracodone I have left over from a root canal gone bad. I am also experiencing night sweats which I've never had before.

Brief Answer:
Possible Diagnosis : Rocky mountain spotted fever

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank You for trusting HealthcareMagic

Headache and night sweats following wood tick bite, raises the concern for rocky mountain spotted fever. It is a bacterial infection transmitted by wood tick bites. It requires prompt treatment with antibiotic Doxycycline, to avoid potential complications.
Confirmation of diagnosis is through blood testing.
The initial symptoms will be followed by the development of a rash on your hands and legs.

I'd recommend that you follow up with an urgent care/ primary care provider as soon as possible to confirm the diagnosis and get started on antibiotics.
