Brief Answer:
Sinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The most common cause of such symptoms is sinusitis. Get a nasal examination, endoscopy and a plain Sinus CT scan done.

2. An examination of the oral cavity for movement of the soft palate is also required.

3. The plugged ears correlate with Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD) which is commonly seen in chronic sinusitis.

4. Other causes are rare. You may follow up with your reports here for treatment options.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
As below:

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. The treatment of sinusitis includes the medications that you have mentioned under the medications tried.

2. Hence it is time to get the nasal examination, endoscopy and a plain Sinus CT scan done.

3. These are the gold standard investigations for chronic sinusitis and treatment is usually started after these investigation results.

4. Upload the images (not the report) of the Sinus CT Scan for an accurate assessment.

5. Another interesting point is that the exact type of medications such as nasal sprays that you have tried out and that these medications work well if taken together and not at different times. Also these medications require a week or two for their action to build up.

6. In medical treatment, sinusitis may not be the only cause. For example, if the examination and Sinus CT are within normal limits, then a further search for the possible cause/s will be required.

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
