What Causes Frequent Urge To Urinate As Well As Pain In Abdomen?
I have been running to the bathroom more frequently in the past year and half than before. I tend to have less than a full bladder but it feels like I am going to urinate in my pants. At night I wake up about three times before XXXXXXX just to pass urine . I am 62 years old and the last I had a PSA test it was under 2.0 as I remember? I do not have any pains in my abdomen. Can you help me with this strong urge to urinate so frequently?
Thank you
Urinary infection with/without prostate gland enlargement is likely cause.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Kwadjowordie and welcome to HCM.
Your symptoms are typical of urinary infection, most likely due to a prostate gland enlargement. To know if you have urinary infection, you need to get your urine routine and culture tests done.If infection is present, it can be treated with a course of specific antibiotic. After giving the urine for testing, you can start a course of T.Ciprofloxacin, which your doctor / Urologist will prescribe. Then you need some blood tests like, CBC,blood sugar, s.creatinine, urea, and PSA. Also, an ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis with residual urine, and a flow rate test, is needed to diagnose a prostate gland enlargement. According to reports, your Urologist will advice you further treatment.
wish you a speedy recovery.
