Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to a viral infection.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone very carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections. If the child is active and playful (except when the temperature is high), all you have to do is to give paracetamol or ibuprofen to bring down the temperature. Also give tepid sponging. The temperature may rise from time to time but that is acceptable. It might take 5-7 days for things to be back to be normal. But you need not worry.

In case of meningitis the condition would be worse and the child would not be active or playful.

If the child is lethargic or if the fever lasts for more than 7 days, you need to see a doctor.

Brief Answer:
Do not ignore.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. He is having headache while having fever. I would not insist you to ignore it. If it continues, it might be worthwhile to visit a doctor and to get him evaluated.
