What Causes Facial Numbness, Anxiety, Headache And Neck Pain?

default
Posted on Sat, 11 Jun 2016
Question: I keep having facial numbness on the right side of my mouth. It's been going on for a few days. It comes and goes. About 2 days before this started it felt like my face was drawing up. The look of my face hasn't changed. I have severe health anxiety. I'm wondering if this could be coming from anxiety. I should also add that I get tension headaches a lot an have several tight muscles in my neck that cause neck pain.

Brief Answer:
You need to let go of anxiety.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I would need to ask you if your face seems to be deviated to one side and whether there is drooling. Unless that is the case, you can assume it to be due to anxiety. Anxiety should definitely be contributory to the tension headaches. However, other probable causes of headache need to be excluded and I insist that you visit a doctor and get yourself evaluated.

About the tight neck muscles, spondylosis has to be excluded and I would insist you to get an X ray of cervical spine (AP and lateral) done and to visit your doctor with the report. Static neck exercises should provide relief.

I would insist you to keep warm. Hot compress should help.
