default
Posted on Thu, 9 Nov 2017
Question: I am experiencing facial numbness around my left eye that extends to the left side of my mouth. The pain wakes me up after about 2 hours of sleep. After I wake up for about 30 minutes there is no pain, but the numbness is still there. I can control the facial muscles.

Brief Answer:
Monitor for now and seek evaluation if pain increases or persists!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this pain. I have reviewed this information fully and it doesn't point to any specific disease condition and it is certainly not STROKE.

For now, I will like that you monitor this only. If this persists for more than a week or symptoms get worse, I will recommend that you seek examination and evaluation to make sure that there is nothing wrong going on.

Also, I will recommend you take Tylenol (1000mg every 8hours) and Ibuprofen (600mg every 8hours) for pain control.

Kindly keep me updated with your progress.
