Question: I have a lot of gas, and pain in my back and pelvic area when i get up from sitting. I have been taking more naps during the day to try to rest. My pain seems less if i don't eat solid food. I have been having intermittent chills. This situation has been getting worse over the last 3 weeks. I have been scheduled for an ultrasound of pelvis and abdomen but i think i should be getting an endoscopy and cat or mri scan. Brief Answer:
antacid and probiotics will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, I would suggest that you can take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg for relief from your symptoms. A probiotic along with digestive enzyme preparation containing pepsin and fungal diastase after meals will have added benefits.
Eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions. Avoid spicy and oily foods. Drink lots of water daily.
Further medical management can be planned according to the clinical evaluation done by your Gastroentologist.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.

The gas is the least of my problems. i started probiotics today. I will, check to see if the other drugs are available here or on line. My major problem is the pain in my back which seems to be associated with my gas/abdominal pain. Do you think my back pain might be related to my GI problems or do you think i should get some physio or massage therapy. The pain seem like it is deep in my internal muscles/organs.

Brief Answer:
some investigations are needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for providing more information.
Abdominal/pelvic pain with intermittent chills can be associated with infection of the urinary tract ( UTI ).
I would advise that you should get following investigations done :-
1. Urine examination ( Routine / Microscopic and Culture / Sensitivity ).
2. Kidney Function Test ( KFT ).
3. Complete Blood Count ( CBC ).
4. Ultrasound of abdomen.
You can go for physiotherapy to relieve muscle spasm, if any. Drink lots of water daily. Further medical management can be planned according to the reports of the above mentioned investigations.
I hope this answers your query. If you have any further doubts, please mention.
Regards. Thanks.

I have an appt with a gasroenterologist for Aug 2016. I think that is shocking that there is such a delay in XXXXXXX B.C. I am feeling better since i switched to fluids and started the probiotics and tylenol. I got some of the medicine for regurgitation, although i don't have any problems with regurtitation so i am reluctant to take medicine for symptoms i don't have. XXXXXXX
