Brief Answer:
USE LANOLIN, UPLOAD PICTURE.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Dry and cracked nipples can be hormonal effects.
At 43, you might be entering the peri menopausal transition phase when hormones fluctuate greatly.
Also, it could be due to seasonal changes and extremes of weather.
Irritant synthetic fabrics for the bra / corset can lead to such changes.
Can you upload a picture please so that I can have a better idea ?
A blood blister can result if you itch /handle the dried out area excessively.
On the other hand, a blood blister can be indicative of a trauma to the area, rough handling during intercourse/ masturbation or rarely indicative of a growth / infection inside the nipple.
A picture will enable me to guide you better.
Applying lanolin on the dry, cracked area is the best treatment.
All the best

I know this isn't the best picture but I don't have the greatest camera. I hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
PIC NOT CLEAR, CONSULT A GYN FOR EXAM

Detailed Answer:
Unfortunately the picture is just not at all clear.
I cannot opine based on this.
It could very well be an allergic skin condition like eczema .
IN absence of a proper visualization, I would recommend examination by a Gynaecologist.
Take care.
