Question: Hi there I have been suffering dizzy spells, sometimes associated with headache but not always. I had a CT scan which revelaved bone spurs on my neck, was not getting any neck pain at that time.... I was put on Endep which helped a bit. but lately I have been getting the dizzy spells back am ok when sitting, most of the time when walking but when standing up for a period of time it hits, eg I was stading taking to a friend today and had to hold onto a wall I had a second blackout its a terrible feeling. I have pains in my neck now constantly as well right in the nape. I have to see a local nurologist but cant get in for awhile yet. was after suggestions my or my GP could try in the mean time. as I am over it

Brief Answer: ?VERTIGO Detailed Answer: RESPECTED MA,AM HELLO BEST WISHES FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY . I have gone through your medical history in detail . Spells of dizziness with/without headaches especially while standing & changing position may be due to many reasons . May i suggest you to 1. Check your BLOOD SUGAR /BLOOD PRESSURE/ SERUM SODIUM/SERUM POTASSIUM ETC as these derangements can also cause dizziness. 2 Take some antivertigo medication/CINNARIZINE etc. for symptomatic relief . 3. Get your MRI BRAIN /MRI CERVICAL SPINE to rule out any intracranial /cervical lesion as a cause of vertigo. 4 . If above all is normal , check with your neurologist for BENIGN POSITIONAL VERTIGO . which improves with time & bed rest . Thanx Hope this answers your querry Dr XXXXXXX k XXXXXXX Director Deptt. of neurosurgery

Brief Answer: VERTIGO Detailed Answer: RESPECTED MA,AM HELLO MY BEST WISHES FOR YOU ALWAYS . SOORY FOR UNAVOIDABLE DELAY. I am happy to know that everything is normal neurologically & hyper/hypotension wise . I would suggest you to 1. Please check with your neurologist whether your MRI BRAIN /MRI CERVICAL SPINE WAS NORMAL or some lesions are there. 2 . If all MRIs are normal , then go for a complete ENT examination to rule out possibility of BENIGN POSITIONAL VERTIGO. THANX DR XXXXXXX K XXXXXXX
