What Causes Dark Vaginal Discharge And Bloating?
Question: I have had my IUD for 31/2 yrs ,I'm bloated and dark discharge and sometimes sharp pain never before but it started after ruff sex ...could that be why?

I understand your concern.
Since how long have you been having this dark discharge and sharp pain? Does this appear only after sex or always? The IUD you use is Cu T or hormonal IUD? Does the discharge have any foul odour?
Pain and brownish discharge after 6 months of IUD insertion can be due to infection of the IUD.Removal of IUD along with a course of antibiotics will help to subside the infection. Vaginal swab and cervical pap smear should be taken prior to the removal of IUD.
Hormonal IUD's can cause brown discharge due to hormonal variations. But if there is sharp pelvic pain, it points towards Pelvic Inflamatory Disease and hence it should be removed and alternate contraceptive measure need to be taken.
