I am female. 25. I am currently on R Cinex e. One tablet daily. My tuberculosis medications started on 26 XXXXXXX 2015. There has been improvement. I gained weight. I have never had fever throughout the treatment.

I experienced cold patches only in last 2 days - 3rd and 4 th July.

Further, my last period was on 6th July 2015. On 12th July I had unprotected sex and took unwanted 72 on 13th July within 25 hours. I experienced light bleeding on 17th and 18th. Now, I am experiencing very light brown discharge since 3 days 2nd to 4th August.

Brief Answer:
Kindly visit your doctor again for regular sputum examinations

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in again with the details.

Since you have started treatment for cox(TB) from January , i hope that you have been taking these medications regularly from the dot centre or your private doctor regularly without any irregularities. In treatment of Tb the most important rule to be followed for best treatment results is having the medications regularly without missing any dose to avoid relapse of TB. You have had 6 months of treatment so could you please tell me the regimen your doctor is following i.e; for how long ill the treatment continue?

On taking unwanted 72 mild menstrual changes may be noticed like ovulatory bleeding(spotting) and brown discharge since the emergency contraceptive contain hormones in high doses thus causing menstrual alteration . Donot worry about this as from the next menstruation it shall get regularised. If the menstruation gets delayed more than ten days of expected time of periods then please get a urine pregnancy test done.

About cold patches: The TB medications need atleast 6 months to kill the TB bacilli . I would like to know if you have had your medications regularly? Also if you are getting fever and chills then you may need to visit your doctor regarding relapse of the case. In that case he/she may advise another sputum examination to make the further changes in treatment. So please visit your doctor for the tests.

Please take medications on time and eat healthy foods rich in proteins. Maintain good hygiene to avoid spreading the disease to others. Dispose off the sputum carefully in a spit bowl.

Please dont worry. Just remember you need to take medications regularly and eat well. Tb is completely curable.

Hope this answered your query.

Dear Doctor,

I have attached my tuberculosis regimen in reports section. Did you find it?

I think I am stressed out because of distuted menstual cycle. I don't wish to be pregnant :/
My last period was on 6th July.
The unprotected sex was on 7th day ( 12th july) Took unwanted 72 within 25 hours (13th July). Withdrawal bleeding followed on 12th and 13th day( 17th and 18th July) Pregnancy could not be ruled out?

I have never missed a single medicine in whole course of TB. I have also never had fever or chills. I am scheduled to meet my doctor next after 2 months. When I was diagnosed, my weight was 45. Now, it is 51.

Brief Answer:
Donot worry most probably just pre menstrual anxiousness.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

Thank you for the updates.I did have a look at your prescription.

Kindly donot worry . Most probably you are not pregnant and you will get your periods soon according to the schedule. Since your dates for menstruation are nearing, due to elevated hormonal levels it is causing anxiousness.

So, relax most probably you will get your periods on time or a little delay of 2-3 days here and there (because of the emergency contraceptive pills affect the menstrual cycle).

Also , last resort even if you are pregnant and dont wish to continue you can approach a gynaecologist for medical termination of pregnancy using medications like mifeprostone and misoprostol. So, Please be relaxed and dont take tension. Taking stress at times only aggravates symptoms.

Since you are saying that you have taking the treatment in the most regular ways so we dont need to worry about than unless you get fever and chills again.

Also it is good to hear that your weight is now 51kgs so you have been taking care of yourself pretty well. Continue the treatment as stated by your doctor.

Hope this answered your query.
