What Causes Chills, Lower Abdominal Pain, Diarrhea And Vaginal Bleeding?

Question: I have a long detailed question.
The problems seemed to start on XXXXXXX 19th. It was the last day of my period and I started having chills. A few days later, on XXXXXXX 21st, I started feeling like I needed to urinate constantly and I had lower abdominal pain so I figured it was a UTI. The following day, XXXXXXX 22nd, I went to my OBGYN. They ran a culture on my urine (I still don't know what the results were) and went ahead and prescribed the antibiotic macrobid. I took it for 3 days and then went out of town and forgot my antibiotic. I never thought another thing about it because my symptoms disappeared. Shortly after I had a few experiences where I'd have blood tinged discharge after urinating. Then, on July 2nd I came down with diarrhea that lasted 24 hours. When the diarrhea started, I suddenly started feeling like I had to urinate constantly even though I didn't. I didn't have a fever and I didn't vomit or lose my appetite, but all food just ran right through me. The diarrhea ended on July 3rd, but over the next two days I experienced bloody discharge. I went to my OBGYN on XXXXXXX 6th and he prescribed a vaginal gel antibiotic. I had to use a special syringe to insert it in my vagina every night for 5 nights. This time I used the full course of the antibiotics and noticed a decrease in the bloody discharge, but I did have an increase in clear discharge.
On the morning of July 8th, 5 days after my diarrhea had ended, my 7 month old son had diarrhea and has had it at least 10 times a day for the past 6 days. Over the weekend we noticed blood in his diarrhea so we took him to the ER. They did a stool sample and we will know the results tomorrow. When I had diarrhea, I washed my hands for at least 60 seconds at a time and I used germ-x afterwards before touching anything, so I'm really surprised that he caught it. But his case is much worse than mine was. His only symptom is diarrhea and abdominal pain. He hasn't had a fever and he acts like his normal happy self in between the episodes of diarrhea. He does refuse food sometimes but his appetite has been much better today than it has been in the last few days. They did blood work on him in the ER and his MPV was low, his lymphocytes were high and his neutrophils were low, but other than that everything was in the normal range.
Today, July 13th, I have come down with diarrhea again. I am a little bit nauseated, but not too bad. I don't have a fever and I haven't lost my appetite, but food is once again running right through me. I have taken pepto bismal to help with the diarrhea.

My question is, does this all sound like it could be related? Do you have any idea what it could be?

Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I can understand your concerns.
I have gone through your history and in my opinion your symptoms are related with your son symptoms and it can be due to viral, bacterial and fungal infection.
But before giving my opinion I want to ask a few questions.
Which antibiotics you have?
Done any investigation, please upload the report?
Which color of diarrhoea ( red or black)?
Any other associated symptoms?
Please revert back to us with your report.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Good luck.

The antibiotic that I was on for my UTI last month sas macrobid. The antibiotic that I was on for 5 days last week for a vaginal bacterial infection was metronidazole vaginal gel. I also forgot to mention that in between all of this, i went to my primary care doctor with a headache and they said my sinuses were inflamed and they gave me a shot of rocephin to prevent the sinus infection from getting worse. So ive been on 3 antibiotics this month. My son hasn't been on any.
I no longer have a copy of his labs, but i remember that his lymphocytes were high and neutrophils were low, which i read could indicate a viral infection.
My son's diarrhea has been brownish/yellowish with small streaks of blood. The streaks of blood first appeared 4 days ago, but the diarrhea started 6 days ago.
The diarrhea that i had today was just brown.
My son's symptoms are diarrhea and abdominal pain that comes with the diarrhea. He hasnt had a fever and he hasnt vomited.
My symptoms tonight are diarrhea and mild nausea. I also dont have a fever and im not vomiting .

Brief Answer:
It can be due to bacterial or viral infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Sorry for the very long delay in my response.
Diarrhea in your case can be due to side effects of antibiotics which you have consumed in last few days.
Blood in stool can be due to inflammation of intestinal mucosa.
It can be a bacterial, viral infection and protozoal infection that can only be confirmed by stool examination.
To control diarrhoea drink a lot of water, eat soft and healthy diet, take probiotics and antibiotics after consulting with your treating doctor.
Lymphocytosis is common at your son's age and indicate viral infection.
If you are breast feeding your baby than your baby get infected with breast milk.
Hope found useful and please upload the reports for further management.
Good luck.
