Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Apart from a pregnancy, there are other conditions that can cause a delayed period.
These include - anxiety, stress, emotional upheavals, weight gain or weight loss, smoking, drinking, late nights, travelling, unaccustomed exercise, ingestion of birth control, etc.
Are any of these factors present ?
If not, then you should have a gynecological evaluation , for delayed and irregular period.
Please go for a thorough internal evaluation - per vaginum and per speculum, and a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan.
Also, hormonal levels - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free testosterone.
This would exclude conditions like hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian disease etc.
All the best

If it progresses into a full blown period, you do not need to worry.
If the spotting continues or the pattern recurs next month, you should have the workup as outlined.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, as I mentioned, late nights and stress due to that could be a potential reason.
Hence, I asked you to have the evaluation only if the same thing happens next month.
