At age 45 some dirty rusty colored discharge from uterus at irregular intervals lasting only 3 to 4 days. No sexual activity, std or illness to explain discharges, even douching did not stop nor increase type of discharge. At age 46 aburpt change an actual period. Brief Answer:
Ge a workup done please.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
See around menopause , there are various hormonal changes that occur in the body.
WIth premature ovarian failure, they are not expected, but MIGHT occur.
SO you can attribute the sudden bleeding to that.
Again another possibility is a fibroid / cyst / cervical growth, again less likely, due to the POF which means a virtual absence of hormones.
Any kind of post menopausal bleeding ( and you DO fall in that category ) should not be ignored.
Please consult an OB - GYN.
Go for an internal exam, a Pap smear and a pelvic ultrasound scan.
Also go for hormonal level measurements - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin.
Please get this workup done so you know what you are dealing with here.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
