default
Posted on Thu, 28 May 2015
Question: this morning I had a couple drops of blood in my urine. also Two very small blood clots. I have no burning or pain . The next time I urinated I had a couple drops of bright red blood then urinated normal with no trace of any blood urine was very clear. I have had the scope test up my bladder a couple months ago and DR said everything was perfact. I have had prostate cancer PSA now 0.1 to 0.0 I called my DR and he said not to worry the blood was probably from my Prostate caused probably from straining and rupured a small vessel in the Prostate. This was shocking to me because I have never had this happen before. What do you think? external beam Radiation for the Cancer two years ago..

Brief Answer:
dont need to worry but some tests are required.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

This is probably what your doctor said especially if PSA is normal. Blood and coagulums in urine are not unusual even in people who didnt have previous prostate diseases and if you had radiation then your prostate and urethra are more sensitive and may bleed more easily. This can happen if urinary stone scratches urethral or bladder wall or in any case of uroinfection.

However, I suggest to do prostate ultrasound and cystoscopy. this is necessary to rule out new bladder tumor or prostate recidive.

WIsh you good health. Regards

I HAD CYSTOSCOPY DONE ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO. iT WAS GOOD NO SIGN OF ANY THING ABNORMAL.HAD PROSTATE ULTRASOUND NONE SOMETIME BACK. IT WAS NORMAL I HAVE A VERY SMALL PROSTATE ACCORDING TO UROLOGIST . hE DOES NOT WANT TO DO ANOTHER CYSTOSCOPY . TOOK URINE TEST SHOWED ALL
NORMAL..SO I GUESS I JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I HAD SOME URINE RETENTION A COUPLE MONTHS AGO AND HAD TO HAVE A CATHETER
IN FOR 5 DAYS AFTER THAT NO PROBLEMS . i HAD PAIN AND BURNING DURING URINATION AFTER MY RADIATION FOR TWO YEARS AFTER AND IT FINALLY WENT AWAY AFTER HAVING THE CATHETER IN FOR 5 DAYS AND IT IMPROVED MY URINE STREAM. i HAVE OCD AND PRESS ON MY BLADDER A LOT THINKING i NEED TO URINATE . COULD THIS MAYBE CAUSE THE BLEEDING?

Brief Answer:
yes

Detailed Answer:
yes it could. any pressure could have caused injury of bladder or urethra so if you did those tests then you dont need to be worried
