Brief Answer:
please go through detailed answer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Most likely, based on your description, this is esophageal spasm. The muscles of the esophagus tighten as a result of inflammation caused due to reflux of acid into esophagus. There is very likely inflammation that has happened over time from acid reflux coming up from your stomach into the esophagus, causing irritation.
Other possible causes include achalasia - a problem of the nerves.
Initially i would recommend the you to go for a laryngoscopic examination of your throat to be done by an Ear nose throat surgeon and to take a mild anti inflammatory like Tylenol thrice a day and see if it responds to it.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.

I had a very bad strep throat/severe cough flu virus five weeks ago for several days that left me with a slight cough that still continues periodically with a little semi-thick phlegm coming up from time to time. I noticed today that my blood pressure was 160/86 and I am usually 142/85 and take Losartan. I have Graves Disease and Diabetes.

I had a very bad strep throat/severe cough virus five weeks ago that left me with a very small sensation to slightly cough and clear my throat of phlegm periodically. I can feel the phlegm in the throat and then the need to cough/clear the throat happens. I have Graves Disease (25 years) and Diabetes (8 years) and take Metformin/Glimepiride and Levothyroxine respectively.

Yes, I have a 13 yr old that has been vomiting and has had constipated/diarrhea for a month now. She has been seen by her physician and was prescribed Prilosec and miralax. She appears to be full of stool ( according to her x-ray). She is still having dull stabbing pain in her stomach and is still vomiting daily. She expresses vomiting is not always with nausea. I hope she will not need an endoscopy. I am wondering if it s GERD or IBS. Thanks for your response.

Hi. I am a 35 years old female. I don't exercise at all, i smoke but very actively working as a sales rep that sees clients at different places. I recently lost 40 pounds dieting alone within a year. Late this year, i experienced acid reflux too. After that, i began having palpitations, breathlessness (occassional and short) and nausea. The nausea one time took me a week getting over. I had ekg done, 78bpm is the result. I had blood tests and urinalysis done, cleared. I am a panicky person and a worrier too. What is wrong with me?

I am a 34 year old male and I play a lot of sports and stay in real good shape, I was dignosed with acid reflux disease a few months ago. I have noticed for the last few weeks that while trying to sleep my heart will beat hard and faster like when you have a bad dream, it happens a couple times a week and only lasts a few minutes. While I am awake it never seems to bother me. I have been checking my blood pressure and it has been running lower than normal 125/60s or lower 70s. It normally runs a little high

I am a 26 year old female and I have been diagnosed with acid reflux since I was a teenager. Over the last week and a half I have been having symptoms I am not really used to. I didnt know if it was because my acid reflux is getting worse or if it was something else going on possibly. It started with the normal nauseous feeling under my breastbone. Normally I can feel better when I eat and of course take medications. After a couple of days it turned into feeling a lot of pressure in my chest like a heavy feeling. I also started feeling bloated under my breastbone to the point where it was hard to breathe. Now since last night I have had a bad pain in my left arm, shoulder, and neck. Acid reflux has never been this bad for me before, but I was wondering if all of this can be symptoms of acid reflux. I have no insurance. Im only 26 and pretty healthy so I didnt think it was anything to do with my heart. Could I be wrong?
